Originally named the Jubilee Datejust, Rolex Datejust history began in 1945 when Rolex released the model for the company’s 40th Anniversary. The 3135 is a continuation of the 3035 series. Rolex launched it in 1977 and was profoundly different from its predecessors with a quick set function. Highly attractive and rare, the present timepiece features a beautiful wooden dial allied to an 18k yellow-gold case of strong proportions that match with the applied baton indexes in yellow gold. Free of any signs of ageing to its dial, the rarity of the timepiece is amplified by its very good overall conditions and, most of all for the very unusual and sought after bark finish, a true gem for Datejust collectors since only a handful of them have been produced.
