Monaco Legend Group’s Exclusive Timepieces auction in Lugano on June 5th presents a spectacular showcase of vintage horology. In a market increasingly focused on quality, provenance, and long-term value, vintage watches continue to outperform expectations.
As recent global uncertainty prompts collectors to shift away from volatile financial assets, rare and historically significant timepieces have emerged as safe-haven investments. At the heart of this renewed attention to vintage lies a truth we know well at Monaco Legend Group: nothing holds enduring value quite like a well-preserved, exceptional watch.
Our upcoming sale includes seven standout vintage watches, each a rare opportunity to own a piece of horological history.

This 1961 yellow gold chronograph is possibly unique, believed to be the only Audemars Piguet chronograph ever signed and retailed by Cartier. Accompanied by a Cartier certificate of authenticity, the watch is cased by the legendary Henri Jeanneret and features a sublime three-register layout, highlighted by its untouched patinated dial. An extraordinary crossover between two great maisons, this watch is a collector’s dream.

Reference 4767 is the original Oyster-cased Dato-Compax, Rolex’s most complicated chronograph and a masterpiece of 20th-century design. This yellow gold example from 1948 is in outstanding original condition, with radium numerals, tropicalized dial and hands, and a crisp case untouched by time. A rare bridge between Rolex’s tool-watch legacy and high complication.

The legendary Stelline returns with this 1952 triple calendar moonphase in yellow gold, complete with bracelet. Its star-shaped hour markers, deep blue moonphase disc, and champlevé enamel work by Stern Frères combine technical brilliance with celestial beauty. One of the most iconic and beloved Rolex references ever produced.

One of the earliest skeletonized wristwatches by Audemars Piguet, this 1950s reference is a marvel of openworking and hand engraving. The movement is visible through a rectangular case with black enamel Roman numerals framing the dial. A fusion of technical artistry and vintage elegance.

An exceptionally rare two-tone version of the iconic reference 130, produced in 1941 and sold by Hausmann & Co. in Rome. With fewer than twenty such examples ever appearing at auction, its configuration, preserved condition, and distinguished retailer signature make it a landmark chronograph.

This 1940 yellow gold reference 4082 is one of just six known examples and features unique hooded lugs and an uncommon 45-minute register. A remarkable early chronograph by Vacheron Constantin, offered with archive extract and in pristine original condition.

The only known example of a reference 1463 signed by Beyer of Zurich, and the earliest known yellow gold version of this legendary waterproof chronograph. Its tropicalized dial and straight lugs make it a singular and highly important piece in Patek Philippe’s chronograph lineage.
