Monaco Legend Group achieves CHF 8 million and 94.5% sold at inaugural Lugano auction

News | 6 June 2025

Monaco Legend Group proudly announces the success of its first-ever auction in Switzerland, held on June 5, 2025, at the prestigious Villa Principe Leopoldo in Lugano. The Exclusive Timepieces sale achieved an outstanding CHF 8 million, with an impressive 94.5% of lots sold, further cementing MLG’s reputation as a leading force in the global watch market.

The tightly curated sale featured over 150 exceptional timepieces, ranging from historically important vintage watches to highly coveted neo-vintage and independent creations, many of which sparked intense bidding both in the room and online.

“This was a landmark event for Monaco Legend Group,” said Davide Parmegiani, Co-Chairman. “Bringing our auction to Switzerland for the first time, we wanted to present something truly special, watches of impeccable quality, rarity and historical interest. The market responded with real enthusiasm.”

Exceptional Highlights

Topping the sale was Lot 166, a unique white gold Patek Philippe reference 3448 with rare enamel dial and Breguet numerals, which sold for CHF 2,180,000. A true one-of-one creation, it underscored the continued strength of Patek Philippe among top collectors and set a new benchmark for the reference.

Other important results included:

Lot 118

A unique Audemars Piguet chronograph in yellow gold, retailed by Cartier and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which sold for CHF 350,000.

Lot 113

An incredibly rare white gold annual calendar moonphase wristwatch by Audemars Piguet in a tortue-shaped case—one of only two known—achieved CHF 331,250.

Lot 146

A Patek Philippe reference 1463 ‘Tasti Tondi’ chronograph with tropical dial retailed by Beyer-Zürich sold for CHF 237,500.

“This auction was a statement,” said Claude Cohen, Co-Chairman. “Collectors are increasingly looking for character, condition, and storytelling. We are proud to have delivered that in Lugano—and to have been rewarded with these results.”

The Power of Provenance and Private Collections

This inaugural Lugano event also featured important watches from two private collections: the Adam Victor Collection of vintage Audemars Piguet masterpieces, and the Fulginiti Neovintage Collection, which captured growing market attention with its offering of rare and pristine watches from the 1980s through early 2000s.

“Time and again we’ve seen that when a watch has true rarity, quality, and provenance, the market is willing to go the distance,” said Edoardo Bolla, Head of Watches Switzerland. “The top results achieved in Lugano—especially for unique and historically significant pieces—prove once again that excellence is always in demand.”

Looking Ahead

Following this successful Swiss debut, Monaco Legend Group continues its strategic expansion while maintaining its focus on curation, quality, and the collector’s eye.

“This is just the beginning,” said Davide Parmegiani. “We will continue to push forward, to discover, to curate, and to create auctions that collectors won’t forget.”
