A refined example of mid-century elegance, this Patek Philippe reference 3514 reflects the brand’s pursuit of technical excellence and discreet sophistication during the 1960s. Introduced in 1964 and produced until 1971, the reference is powered by the prestigious automatic caliber 27-460, distinguished by its solid gold rotor — one of Patek Philippe’s most celebrated self-winding movements of the era.
The cases for this reference were manufactured by Antoine Gerlach, regarded as one of the finest casemakers in Geneva, lending the watch beautifully balanced proportions and refined finishing. This example is presented in white gold and features a silver dial with applied baton hour markers and a small seconds subdial at 6 o’clock.
What makes this watch especially distinctive is the double-signature of Gübelin on the dial. The watch was originally delivered by Patek Philippe to Gübelin on a leather strap and was later fitted by the retailer with a made-to-measure white gold Milanese bracelet, crafted, signed, and sold by Gübelin — a rare and highly attractive detail that adds significant historical charm and collectability.
Preserved in like-new condition, the watch is accompanied by its Extract from the Archives, confirming its production in 1965 and its sale in 1966.
