Make It Yours

While Audemars Piguet is today best known for the Royal Oak, introduced in 1972, the manufacture had already established a reputation for producing wristwatches of exceptional quality and refinement decades earlier. Throughout the first half of the twentieth century, the brand created elegant timepieces in limited quantities, many of which are today appreciated for their craftsmanship and distinctive design.

The present example, dating from the 1950s, is crafted in platinum and features a particularly creative sculptural case with angular lugs that give the watch a strong presence despite its modest 30 mm diameter. The original silvered dial displays applied Arabic numerals alternating with faceted indexes, together with a subsidiary seconds register at six o’clock, creating a balanced and highly attractive aesthetic.

Completing the watch is an unsigned white gold bracelet. Preserved in excellent overall condition, this timepiece represents a fine example of Audemars Piguet's elegant mid-century production.
