The present watch is a high-level exponent of artistry by Vacheron Constantin, made for a special occasion: a yellow gold, hunter case chronograph pocket watch extremely well preserved and of undeniable charm. The case is generous with its 55 mm in diameter but has a sober and elegant design with smooth edges all conserved in perfect conditions. Enhancing the general desirability of this timepiece is the fact that on the outer case there are some engravings depicting scenes of war and rescue. The enamel white dial has the inner track for the minutes in black, subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock for the seconds, 30 minutes register at 12 o’clock, black arabic numbers for the hours all around and to give a hint of color to the whole composition is the sphygmomanometer scale for the pulsations in vivid red. This medical chronograph pocket watch has been made for the 50th anniversary of the Red Cross which was founded by Henri Dunant in 1863.
