The name Baignoire come from the resemblance of the shape of the watch to a bathtub or, in french, “baignoire”. This special model has gained a lot of approvals all over the world for its unique design from its origin which dates back to 1957. Later on Cartier decided di introduce to the market a new, bigger version of this watch which took name in 1973 Baignoire Allongée. The present lot is a really gorgeous specimen made in a limited edition of only 400 pieces, bearing on the back the number 222. The two body case with its iconic shape is in 18k yellow gold and it still retains its original proportions thanks to the great care of the past collector who kept it for many years. The guillochè silver dial presents painted black radial graduated Roman numerals, the secret Cartier signature at VII and blued steel epee hands, immortal trademarks of Cartier. Last but not least, the watch is also provided with its original box and warranty.
