The Jumbo Memovox Lapis Lazuli, reference E588 was launched in the second part f the 60s and was one of the most appreciated ever produced by Jaeger LeCoultre. It has a so-called “scale dial”: a blue lacquered one that went on stainless case and a brown version, with a red inner alarm ring, which normally came with a 14-karat gold case or exceptionally with a 18K gold case. The present lot is a very rare example made in yellow gold with “Lapis Lazuli” dial with yellow gold applied indexes, hand and logo. The case water resistant is extremely fine, with automatic movement, sweep center seconds, date and alarm. The model is called the “Lapis Lazuli” because of its blue lacquered dial that resembles lapis lazuli stone. It is by far one of the nicest ever appeared in auction for the conditions of the case and dial.
