The Lange 1 Tourbillon model was in production between 2000 and 2003 and is part of a very limited edition: 250 examples in pink gold and only 150 in platinum. The present lot is part of the first group whose case has been produced in pink gold and the number engraved on the case back means that is the piece 54 of this restricted family. This watch is the world’s first wristwatch combining a tourbillon, a patented oversized date, twin barrels for the three days’ power reserve and a progressive power reserve indicator. The three-body curved bezel and transparent case back are incredibly fresh and crisp. The two-tone satiné, solid silver, subsidiary off-center hour dial with applied pink gold radial Roman numerals and dart indexes and apertures for the oversized date at 1 and for the tourbillon regulator is mint and untouched. The watch is sold with its original box and papers.
