Rolex first decided to concentrate on the quality of the movements and its relentless quest for chronometric precision rapidly led to success. The present lot reference 2734 is one of these creations born according to the dictates of Hans Wilsdorf. The untouched circular stainless steel case has an unusual and very attractive wide bezel with big winding crown and screw down back which shows the still deep and crisp numbers. The mobile hinged lugs are unusual and match perfectly with the case. The dial is very particular with a rare black sector “Deco-style” with gilt graphics featuring only “Rolex” and Subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock, completed by its oversized gold hands. Original Rolex bracelet from the ’30s t his specimen definitely represents a mix of essentiality and particularity that makes a rare opportunity not to be missed.
