Introduced in 1930’s, reference 3536 by Rolex is an exceedingly rare example of an early Oyster Perpetual Bubbleback and was available in stainless steel and pink gold or stainless steel and yellow gold or stainless steel such as the present specimen. This latter version is doubtlessly one of the most stylistic models ever made of bubbleback with its concave enlarged bezel and slim straight lugs and probably the most sought after by collector. The lot here offered has an incredibly well preserved case with absolutely deep and crisp engravings on the back and very strong proportions. Many different dial layouts were offered for this model and among the most appreciated there’s for sure the salmon one such as the one equipped on the present lot. A fascinating design with Roman numerals, closed seconds track interpose with arabic 5 seconds makes it a true missing piece for any Rolex collection.
