Rolex launched the Datejust in 1945 and is one of the most iconic watches ever produced by the Rolex brand. The reason why it has been called Datejust is pretty logical since this model has the capability to show “just” the date at the stroke of midnight. The present example is a distinguished specimen of Datejust reference 6105, the larger case embodiment of the Bubble Back model in production between 1951 and 1953. Its two-body case with screw down back is in full yellow gold and preserved in astonishing conditions considering its age. Supplied with a yellow gold jubilee bracelet, it is also equipped with one of the most rare and sought after dials ever produced by Rolex: an intact black gilt surface with applied yellow gold faceted dart indexes and 6 round brilliants that confer to the whole watch an even more sophisticated taste. Kept in a private collection for many years it represents an almost unique opportunity to purchase one of the rarest vintage Datejust ever produced.
