Ulysse Nardin represents one of the oldest realities in watchmaking having its birth in 1846 in Le Locle and in continual operation under different ownership since it was minted. While today this brand is renown for being at the forefront in the creation of uncomplicated sports watches and ultra-complicated haute horology, in the 1960s its focus was on elegant chronographs and, salutarily, on performative diver’s watch. The here offered Ulysse Nardin Diver’s watch is one of those rare finds that manage to mesmerize the eyes of any collector. Powered by the caliber N74, this specimen shares many stylistic attributes with other divers of the era: the clean black dial, graduated dive bezel and angled lugs make this the kind of classically styled sports watch that looks good in any decade. Fully realized in stainless steel and preserved in remarkable conditions that sill presents the sharp edges of the lugs, it also offers a charming dial with brown indexes and hands. This dive watch from the historical marquee is a true rarity and a true masterpiece for any collection of tool watches.
