Vacheron Constantin, one of the watch brands most appreciated by fans for its desire to always improve. From 1755, years when Jean-Marc Vacheron founded the company in Geneva, the firm has experimented and given life to high-level innovations such as the world’s first horological complication (1770) while nine years later it designed the first engine-turned dial. In 1819 firstly appeared the double name of Vacheron & Constantin but only in 1970, the company officially changed its name to Vacheron Constantin. Almost 10 years earlier the company gave birth to a nice example of reference 6562, produced in steel with screw back now here at auction. The whole conditions of the watch are absolutely nice, the silver dial is immaculate, with applied “wide boy” style baton indexes. The date window is located at 3 o’clock and the baton hands match perfectly the indexes. The stainless steel bracelet is extremely rare since it has been manufactured by Gay Freres as testified by the “G F” engraved on the deployant and the iconic chamois.
