Reference 6611 must be considered one of the most important Day-Date models ever produced and marks the introduction of the new balance wheel with Microstella adjustment screw. The movement modification allows the Day-Date ref. 6611 to boast the prestigious Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified certification which attests its accuracy. The present watch was manufactured in the early years of the introduction of the Day-Date, specifically in 1957 and its pink-gold case is still fresh as it was in that period thanks to the carefulness of the last owner. The tonneau case with screw back and reeded bezel also has a precious silvered pie-pan dial in great conditions with a prefect patina that match the case and completed by the baton indexes. Without luminous dots at the hour markers like many other variations of the Rolex Day-Date, it has alpha hands, the calendar is in Spanish while the date in red. Moreover, to make it even more precious is the signature on the dial of the famous Venezuelan retailer Serpico y Laino, active from 1925 to 1966 and known as one of the best watches retailers in the whole of South America. In addition, the present lot is even more fascinating since it is equipped with its pink-gold jubilee bracelet.
