The lot here offered is a modern iteration of the most icon model ever produced by Omega: the Speedmaster. Manufactured with many different layout, material and complications, it has also been utilized to create some special and limited edition for the celebration of important achievements. Considering its sporty look and a design definitely linked to the motor world, it comes as no surprise that this model has been chosen to commemorate the Michael Schumacher’s 2002 FIA Formula One World Championship. Made in a limited number of 5.555 pieces, the lot here offered is number 1305. With a stainless steel case extremely well preserved, the watch is powered by an automatic movement. Automatic Speedmaster models are also known as the “Reduced” because of the smaller 39 mm case size instead of the 42 mm of the Speedmaster professional models. It presents the iconic lyre lugs and a black bezel with tachometer graduated to 500UPH, while the case back has the Speedmaster logo and engraved: “Speedmaster Racing—Michael Schumacher” with his signature in black and “World Champion 2002” in red. The dial is the epitome of sportiness with a black carbon-fiber finish background, luminous baton indexes, sunk chequered subsidiary dial, the 24-hour and 30-minute registers, chronograph divisions in white, outer date in white/red and calendar. The watch is also offered with its original box, warranty and additional links.
