As a tribute to its military history, around 2008 Panerai revived one of its most emblematic models: the Luminor Marina. These traditional watches that equipped Italian combat swimmers during the Second World War have been the spearhead of the Officine Panerai in Florence since their creation. The present diving watch with a cushion-shaped black steel case (PVD surface treatment), has the peculiarity of having the crown charge positioned for left-handed people, therefore at 9 o’clock as opposed to the canonical one at 3 o’clock. Water resistant up to 30 ATM (or 300 m), has a non-worked steel case back, screwed down with serial numbers and mention of limited editions. The dial is in classic Panerai style: black, with large luminous baton indexes and Arabic 6-9-12, pencil hour hands and luminescent small seconds at three o’clock. The watch is sold full set with its luxury wooden box, its certificate of origin, chronometer certificate, watch instruction manual and two additional straps.
