This remarkable Cartier Pasha, reference 2332, is a rare and unusually expressive iteration of one of the Maison’s most iconic designs. Conceived in 18-carat white gold and measuring approximately 39 mm in diameter, the reference 2332 stands apart within the Pasha family for its extraordinarily uncommon lapis lazuli stone dial, each example possessing its own naturally unique pattern of deep blue lazurite with grey undertones and flecks of golden pyrite, an organic canvas imbued with depth and character rarely seen on a Cartier wristwatch. True to the Pasha’s signature aesthetic, originally popularised in 1985 by the visionary Gérald Genta, the watch marries a round rotating bezel and sturdy case with distinctive Vendôme-style lugs and the instantly recognisable chain-secured crown cap, here enhanced with a diamond-set cabochon that accentuates the design’s dual nature of refinement and presence. Perhaps the most enchanting feature of the reference 2332 is its removable diamond-set protective grill, which rests over the sapphire crystal like a filigree lattice of light. More than decorative, this grill pays homage to the Pasha’s heritage while adding a layer of theatricality to the watch’s personality, jewelled yet purposeful, opulent yet assertive. Powered by Cartier’s automatic calibre 049 with central seconds and a practical date display, the 2332 is far more than a rare dial exercise: it is a statement of ownership, taste, and historical depth. Examples with lapis lazuli and diamond grill remain exceptionally scarce, making this reference not merely a timepiece, but one of the most collectible and conversation-worthy interpretations of the Pasha ever produced.
