There are few collaborations in the world of horology as fascinating as that between Audemars Piguet and Cartier. Dating to the 1950s, the present watch was entirely manufactured by Audemars Piguet, including its case, movement, and dial, before being retailed by Cartier, as attested by the signature on the dial. Its rectangular, Tank-inspired 18k yellow gold case is distinguished by its strong geometric lines and elongated, sculpted lugs, creating an elegant yet distinctly architectural profile. The silvered dial features a delicate radial design, complemented by elongated black hour markers and slender gold hands. The dual signature, “Audemars Piguet, Genève” at 12 o’clock and “Cartier” at 6 o’clock, offers a particularly fascinating testimony to its provenance. The case displays a beautiful degree of oxidation and age-related patina, lending the watch an unmistakable vintage character and an authentic sense of history.
