Since its introduction in 1945, the Datejust has remained one of Rolex’s most iconic and versatile models. Introduced in the late 1980s, reference 16220 marked a new chapter in the collection’s evolution, featuring the highly regarded caliber 3135, renowned for its precision, robustness, and reliability. This stainless steel example features a rare dial bearing the emblem of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces above 6 o’clock. Rolex has occasionally produced dials with logos, crests, or insignia for specific institutions and markets, with Middle Eastern examples being particularly sought after due to their rarity and cultural significance. The colorful crest is exceptionally well preserved, while the Eastern Arabic numeral date display further emphasizes the watch’s regional provenance.
