Launched in 2006 and discontinued in 2021, the reference 5119G remained faithful to the defining aesthetic of the Calatrava, combining a perfectly round 36 mm case in 18k white gold with the Maison’s signature Clous de Paris hobnail bezel. Its understated white lacquered dial features elongated black Roman numerals, black hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, creating a remarkably balanced and refined display. The straight lugs, together with the watch’s slim proportions, give it the discreet presence expected of a traditional dress watch, further enhanced by the manually wound Caliber 215 PS. The contrast between the restrained dial and the richly textured hobnail bezel, satin-finished case band and polished lugs creates a subtle interplay of surfaces and light. A direct descendant of the celebrated Ref. 3919, the 5119G successfully preserves the essential purity of the Calatrava while giving the design a slightly more contemporary presence through its enlarged 36 mm case.
