Introduced in 1939 and produced until at least 1947, the Ref. 541 was primarily destined for the South American market and was offered in yellow and pink gold, stainless steel and two-tone configurations. Its two-piece case, measuring approximately 30 mm in diameter, houses the manually wound Calibre 12-120 with subsidiary seconds. The present example is particularly distinguished by its exceptionally attractive pink-on-pink configuration, combining a pink-gold case with a matching pink-toned dial. The latter features the characteristic geometric Art Deco layout, with applied gold pyramidal hour markers, geometric dots and a subsidiary seconds register. Examples of the Ref. 541 in pink gold are exceedingly rare, with only a handful known to have appeared on the market. The rarity of the present watch is further enhanced by its double signature, Patek Philippe and Freccero, linking it to one of the most important retailers in the South American market. Its appeal is further enhanced by the beautiful matching pink-gold bracelet.
