Designed during Blancpain Biver era, a period that profoundly shaped the manufacture’s recent history, the 5395 model exemplifies the brand determination to demonstrate, at the time when quartz dominated the global watch market, that traditional mechanical complications remains as relevant as ever. The perpetual calendar capable of automatically accounting for varying lengths of months and leap years without manual intervention until the next leap century remains one of the most prized complications in fine watchmaking, and its integration into an ultra thin 34mm case attests to watchmaking expertise that Blancpain sought to highlight at the time. Produced over several years in the late 1980’s and 1990’s, the 5395 model featured various dial (silver, ivory, mother of pearl) and strap variations, this diversity of designs explains the presence of sub - references such as 3892A, with the general 5395 reference, denoting a specific combination of case, and dial.
