During the 1970s, Piaget established itself as one of the leading names in luxury jewellery watches, combining ultra-thin watchmaking with exceptional gold craftsmanship. Throughout the decade, the Maison collaborated with some of the world's most prestigious jewellers, including Van Cleef & Arpels, producing exclusive retailer-signed timepieces that remain highly appreciated by collectors today. The present example is a refined expression of this collaboration. Crafted entirely in yellow gold, it features an elegant square case framing a striking black laquered dial bearing the double signature of both Piaget and Van Cleef & Arpels. The watch is further enhanced by an exceptional integrated finely woven yellow gold bracelet, a hallmark of Piaget's jewellery creations of the period. Powering the watch is an ultra-thin manual-winding movement, perfectly suited to the refined proportions of the case.
