Introduced in 1932, the Cartier Tank Basculante reinterpreted the iconic Tank with an ingenious swivelling case designed to protect the dial during everyday wear and sporting activities. Rather than rotating on a horizontal axis, the case pivots vertically within its frame, allowing the watch not only to conceal its dial but also to stand upright as an elegant miniature desk clock. The present Tank Basculante Millennium, reference 2391, was produced in 2000 as a limited edition of only 365 pieces to celebrate the turn of the millennium. Part of the prestigious Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP), it features an 18K yellow gold case, the collection's signature guilloché dial and the ultra-thin manual-winding Cartier calibre 060. The commemorative caseback engraving further highlights the significance of the edition. Offered complete with its original box and papers, this exceptional full-set example represents one of the most desirable modern interpretations of the Tank Basculante.
