Introduced in 1957, the Rolex reference 6611 represents the second generation of the iconic Day-Date, refining the groundbreaking model introduced just one year earlier as the world's first self-winding wristwatch to display both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full. Preserving the elegant acrylic crystal and classic proportions of the early Day-Date, the reference 6611 featured the upgraded chronometer-certified caliber 1055, incorporating Rolex's innovative free-sprung Microstella balance for enhanced precision and reliability. The present example is cased in pink gold and fitted with a riveted Oyster bracelet.
