Produced during Piaget's vibrant creative period of the 1970s, the present reference 14510 belongs to the celebrated Black Tie family, a model inseparably associated with Andy Warhol. Introduced in 1972, the Black Tie was distinguished by its bold cushion-shaped case and distinctive gadrooned profile. In 1973, Andy Warhol acquired a yellow gold example, one of the seven Piaget watches he owned, and the model subsequently became widely known among collectors as the “Andy Warhol” watch. Piaget has since officially adopted the artist's name for the collection. Dating from 1975, the present reference 14510 is crafted in yellow gold and is particularly distinguished by its striking malachite dial, whose rich green colour and naturally occurring banding make each example inherently unique. The use of ornamental hard stones was central to Piaget's creative approach during the 1960s and 1970s, with materials such as malachite, lapis lazuli and tiger's eye transformed into highly distinctive watch dials. The watch is further accompanied by a Piaget Authenticity Certificate and fitted presentation box.
