During the 1970s, Vacheron Constantin continued to explore the intersection between fine watchmaking and jewellery, creating a distinctive series of pendant watches characterised by sculptural cases, precious metals and richly coloured hardstone dials. These creations reflected the Maison’s willingness to experiment with unconventional forms and materials, transforming the traditional timepiece into an elegant and highly decorative jewel. The present example is a particularly attractive expression of this design language, featuring a sculptural 18K yellow gold case with softly rounded, irregularly shaped contours. The case houses a striking natural green jade dial, its variegated surface displaying characteristic dark inclusions and subtle tonal variations, making each dial inherently unique. The pendant is completed by an integrated gold bail and a matching 18K yellow gold chain, while the watch is fitted with a manual-winding mechanical movement.
