Introduced in 1986, the Blancpain reference 5395 represented the perpetual calendar within the celebrated “Six Masterpieces”, the landmark collection of highly complicated mechanical watches created during Blancpain's revival under Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet. Combining remarkable mechanical sophistication with restrained and elegant proportions, the reference features a beautifully balanced dial with three subsidiary displays and moon phases at 6 o’clock. The present example is a particularly luxurious interpretation, crafted in white gold and fitted with an exceptionally attractive mother-of-pearl dial enhanced by diamond-set hour markers. The case is further distinguished by its spectacular bezel set with two rows of diamonds, while the highly desirable Gay Frères bracelet, produced for Blancpain, further enhances the watch's rarity and appeal. Combining the prestigious perpetual calendar complication with a white gold case, luminous mother-of-pearl dial and coveted Gay Frères bracelet, the present watch represents a highly attractive and sophisticated example of Blancpain's celebrated Six Masterpieces.
