Introduced during the second half of the 1930s, the Rolex reference 3330 is regarded as one of the manufacture's rarest and most important pre-Oyster chronograph wristwatches. Produced in very limited numbers, the model was remarkably advanced for its era, featuring an oversized 37 mm case with an elegant flat bezel, characteristic square chronograph pushers, and a beautifully executed multi-scale dial with perfectly proportioned subdials arranged in a harmonious tri-compax layout. These distinctive features firmly established the reference 3330 among the most desirable vintage Rolex chronographs and laid the foundations for the manufacture's later chronograph production. Dating to approximately 1938, the present example belongs to the earliest years of production. Preserved in an attractive pink gold case, it is fitted with a striking black gilt dial featuring tachymeter and telemeter scales.
