At the beginning of the ’50s, the famous airline company Pan Am was looking for a small instrument which could allow the pilots to keep track of time in two locations. In 1954, therefore, was presented the first GMT model, Reference 6542 and after only 5 years later, in the light of the success of this model, the reference 1675 was presented, which remained in production until 1980. Reference 16 750 (the present watch) followed in 1981 introducing the quickset feature and a new higher beat caliber 3075 movement. With this update the order of the hands changed from GMT/Hour/Minute/second on to Hour/GMT/Minute/Second. The lot offered here is a beautiful specimen of 16 750, it comes with the iconic and typical blue and red bezel and the classical 40 mm tonneau shaped case in stainless steel. The black matte dial features very nice painted indexes and hands. This watch is sold with the iconic Jubilee bracelet in stainless steel.
