“If you can dream it, you can do it” this is probably the most famous quote of Walt Disney which inspired many people in the course of the last years. Surely it is a phrase that also kept in mind Michael S. Ovitz, president of Walt Disney from 1995 to 1997 when in 2014 he was delivered directly by Patek Philippe a piece specially made for him. We are extremely proud to have here offered in our auction this unique piece, a Patek Philippe reference 3940G-28 in 18k white gold with striking pink gold dial and special logo with printed the initials of Michael S. Ovitz. Reference 3940 has been one of the longest ever produced by Patek since it started in 1984 when it replaced the existing perpetual calendar reference 3450 till approximately 2007 when it was substituted by the 5140. At that time, it was the slimmest automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch ever produced and its stepped tonneau style case immediately became iconic among watches’ lovers. Reference 3940 has always been considered as the quintessential perpetual calendar with moon phases and distinguished by its timeless elegance but the lot here offered is absolutely remarkable for its qualities and features. First of all the white gold case is really well preserved and in almost untouched conditions. Secondly, the stunning dials: its second series configuration with sunken subsidiary dials, quarter division for the leap year and the always appreciated Breguet numerals is already gorgeous, but the shiny, immaculate and rare pink color is simply amazing. Moreover, inside the moon phases subdial is are printed the user mentioned letters M-S-O demonstration that this special watch was specially created for Mr. Ovitz. Accompanied by the original Patek certificate confirming the sale of this wristwatch the 30th September 2014, this absolutely exceptional 3940G-028 has a massively high level of desirability and exclusivity for collectors and lovers.
