A striking expression of Piaget’s decorative savoir-faire, the present Dual Time wristwatch combines an unusual twin-movement configuration with an exceptionally elaborate exterior. Conceived to display two time zones independently, the watch is powered by two manual-winding calibre 6P1 movements, each dedicated to its respective time display. The rectangular white gold case is entirely hand-decorated with intricate scrolling and foliate engraving, a motif that continues seamlessly onto the integrated white gold bracelet. The elaborate workmanship transforms the watch into a jewel-like object, characteristic of Piaget’s particularly exuberant creations of the period. Both time displays are presented on richly coloured lapis lazuli dials, each naturally exhibiting its own subtle variations and inclusions. The two dials are identically configured, with elegant baton indexes and printed Roman numerals, creating a harmonious contrast between the intense blue of the stone and the luminous white gold of the case and bracelet. Combining technical ingenuity, precious materials and exceptional decorative craftsmanship, this rare Piaget Dual Time exemplifies the maison’s distinctive ability to unite horological complexity with jewellery artistry. Its twin movements, matched lapis lazuli dials and fully engraved case and bracelet make it an especially compelling and highly unusual example of mid-century Piaget design.
