Its substantial, multi-faceted case in 18-carat yellow gold frames an exceptionally elaborate multi-time-zone complication, conceived for the sophisticated international traveller.
The ivory-coloured dial is animated by four gold subsidiary registers, each displaying a 24-hour scale enriched with radiant sun motifs and deep blue sectors to distinguish day from night. Despite its complexity, the composition remains remarkably balanced, with luminous dot indexes, a peripheral railway track and elegant central hands completing the ensemble. The case has developed an appealing, honest patina and retains strong proportions, while the case back is engraved “MAX TIME”. Accompanied by its original setting stylus this charismatic timepiece is not merely a watch, but a fascinating expression of Gérald Genta’s boundless imagination.
